Rachel grew up in southern Vermont and got involved with horses at age ten. She got her bachelors degree from the University of Vermont in Animal Science, concentrating in Equine studies. From there she attended Montana State University Professional Farrier School.

Rachel and her husband, Andrew, made the move to North Carolina after he got stationed at Fort Bragg. There, Rachel continued her learning and apprenticed under well known, successful farriers.

Andrew and Rachel now live in the small town of Marlboro, VT. In her free time Rachel enjoys blacksmithing and forge work, riding her horse, and going on leisurely hikes with her husband and their two dogs.
